Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the WeavingGem mobile application and related services (collectively, the “App”), operated by WeavingGem (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. The App

WeavingGem is an at-loom companion for handweavers. It helps you track warp threading and weft treadling from WIF draft files you import. The App is local-first: your drafts and progress are stored on your device unless you explicitly export or share them.

WeavingGem is a tracking tool, not pattern-drafting software. We do not guarantee that imported WIF files are error-free or suitable for any particular project.

2. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on Apple devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

You may not reverse engineer, decompile, redistribute, or resell the App except as allowed by applicable law or Apple’s rules.

3. WeavingGem Pro (In-App Purchase)

The App may offer a paid upgrade (“WeavingGem Pro”) that unlocks additional features, such as unlimited WIF imports. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Prices are shown in the App before you buy.

  • Billing: Apple charges your Apple ID. We do not store your payment details.
  • Restoration: Use “Restore Purchases” in the App to recover Pro on a new device signed into the same Apple ID.
  • Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple under its policies. See reportaproblem.apple.com.

We may change Pro features or pricing for future purchases. Changes do not retroactively remove features you already paid for, except where required by law or Apple policy.

4. Your Content

You retain ownership of WIF files and weaving data you import or create in the App. You are responsible for backing up your files. We are not liable for loss of data due to device failure, deletion, or uninstalling the App.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the App — for example, by attempting to interfere with its operation, circumvent purchase limits, or use it in violation of applicable law.

6. Disclaimer

The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. You use the App at the loom at your own judgment and risk.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WeavingGem and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or weaving materials arising from your use of the App.

8. Apple

These Terms are between you and WeavingGem, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.

In the event of a conflict between these Terms and Apple’s applicable terms, Apple’s terms govern your use of the App through the App Store.

9. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle data in the App and on this website.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
