How do I save changes back to my WIF file?

Use Save to write your changes back to the WIF file you opened. Use Save as… to make a new WIF file and keep the original as it was.

You'll find both in the menu on your pattern in the library.

When should I use Save?

Use Save when you want the file you opened to include your changes, such as new yarn colours. It's only available when WeavingGem can write to that file, and it asks you to confirm the first time.

When should I use Save as…?

Use Save as… when you want a new WIF file and your original draft left untouched. It's a good choice when you want a yarn-matched copy alongside the original.
