Paint your weave design on the drawdown
Have you ever wished you could just play with colour on your weaving draft, the same way you can in your sketchbook?
In the most recent Draft Designer update, now you can. Paint yarn colour right on the drawdown in the middle of the draft, choose warp, weft, or both, and try a stripe or a block of colour the way you would colour a cloth sketch. Prefer the traditional path? Plot structure in the matrix and colour the bars along the top and side instead. On iPad, Apple Pencil works the same way it does on paper.

When you look at a draft, your eye often goes straight to the cloth in the middle. With Draft selected, choose whether you are colouring the warp, the weft, or both, then paint on that canvas. The yarn colours update as you work, so you can try a stripe or a block of colour and see it on the cloth right away.
Or colour the draft the traditional way
Some of us grew up plotting threading and treadling on paper, and colouring the bars along the top and side of the draft. Draft Designer still supports that path. You can paint structure in the matrix and put yarn colours on the warp and weft bars. Paint on the canvas when it helps. Work the classic draft when that feels more natural. Both live in the same place.
Keep your yarns ready, and fill the draft you sized
Adding a yarn colour should feel like picking up the next cone. When you add a colour in Draft Designer, it is ready to paint with right away.
