Does WeavingGem work with jack and counterbalance looms?

Yes. In Settings, under Loom Setup, you tell WeavingGem whether your loom has a rising shed or a sinking shed. That way the beads match what happens when you press a treadle.

Which setting matches my loom?

A jack loom has a rising shed, so choose jack. A counterbalance loom has a sinking shed, so choose counterbalance. Other looms with a sinking shed can use the counterbalance setting too.

Should I show treadles or shafts?

Choose Treadles if you weave from a tie-up and press treadles. Choose Shafts if you'd rather see which shafts lift for each pick, such as on a table loom.

Some WIF files use a lift plan and have no treadling. For those drafts, WeavingGem shows shafts only. See the lift plan guide.
