How does WeavingGem track weaving picks?
Open a pattern, choose Weave, and WeavingGem tracks each pick so you can prevent errors and keep your focus on your weaving. Large gemstone beads show what to do for the current pick.
Depending on Loom Setup in Settings (cog), a bead shows either which treadle to press with your foot (for a floor loom, following the tie-up in your WIF) or which shafts to lift (for a table loom or lift-plan draft). You can change treadles vs shafts, and jack vs counterbalance shed, in Settings. To review the tie-up and full draft while you weave, tap the eye icon for View draft.
Picks appear in a weaving group. After you have thrown every pick in that group, advance by tapping the screen, using the forward control, swiping forward, or saying “next” if Voice Control is on. Adjust how many picks are in a group under Settings → Weaving Focus.
If you make a mistake, reverse with the back control, a reverse swipe, or “back” on Voice Control.
When you reach the end of a repeating draft, tap to loop and continue from the beginning. Progress saves automatically if you leave the app.
Tip
Lift-plan WIF files show shaft lifts only. See How do lift-plan WIF files work in WeavingGem? and What is jack loom vs counterbalance in WeavingGem?.
