How does WeavingGem track threading?
Open a pattern, choose Thread, and WeavingGem becomes a weave tracker for dressing the loom. Large gemstone beads help you prevent errors so you can keep your focus on your weaving.
In threading mode you see a diagram of which warp ends go through which shafts. Each bead shows the yarn color to thread through the heddle on that shaft number. LEFT and RIGHT labels match the sides of your physical loom.
Ends appear in a threading group (how many ends you work before the next group). When you have threaded every end in the group, advance to the next group by tapping the screen, using the forward control, swiping forward, or saying “next” if Voice Control is on.
If you make a mistake, reverse with the back control, a reverse swipe, or “back” on Voice Control. At the very start of a sequence, Back waits until you have advanced once. See Why does Back wait until I start threading?.
In Settings (cog), Threading Focus sets the group size and whether you walk Right to Left or Left to Right. Default walk is right to left.
When you reach the end of the threading sequence, tap to restart if your draft is a repeating pattern and you want to keep going. Progress saves automatically if you leave the app.
Tip
Need to check the full draft while you thread? Use the eye icon to open View draft (Details and Colors), then return to your place.
